Ronaldo's 700th Career Goal Proves He's a Formidable Competitor
Ronaldo has once again proved himself as one of the greats - he scored his 700th club goal on Sunday, 9th October; in a match between his club side Manchester United and Everton, they won the game by a goal difference.
This marks another milestone for the player; Ronaldo has scored 700 goals in 944 games he played for Sporting Lisbon, United, Real Madrid, and Juventus over 18 years.
After the game, his teammate Bruno Fernandes had this to say: "It is tough still counting goals for Ronaldo because every week seems like a new record,"
"I am thrilled because he has been working hard to get this goal. Today he got the goal and the win, and that is the most important for him, that the team won."
When he played for Real Madrid, Cristiano scored a staggering 450 goals, which makes up more than half of his 700 club goals, making him the club's highest goal scorer. More so, at Madrid, he had an impressive career - he won significant titles for the club.
Based on sources at ESPN, Ronaldo had plans to leave his current club Manchester United, to compete in the Champions League. Still, significant clubs like but major clubs, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich all turned down the chance to sign him.
Nonetheless, he's the top scorer in Champions League history, scoring 140 goals in 183 appearances, 13 more goals ahead of Lionel Messi.
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered the top goalscorer of all time, with 817 goals scored at both club and country levels.
